denidowi asked: Whe were the very top performers of all time in their sports’ field??
… the most dominant of all??
To me, there is no question at all!!
Wlater Lindrum in billiards absolutely dominated the game worldwide for a great period.
They kept changing the rules to try and thwart his dominance, but all to no avail!!
In that sense, you could call him ‘King of kings’ in sport.
Only just a hair behind him, in my view, was ‘Sir Donald Bradman’ – king of the cricket bat!!
He was the only player in history to have basically averaged 100 runs each time he went in to bat!!!! … that was his average!!
No one else has ever got near it – worldwide – in the 70 years since!
What think ye??
Sorry … the name of the all-time top billiard king is ‘Walter Lindrum’

Matt W asked: Hi. My dad and I were playing a game of 8 ball, and decided to play with this change:
You must hit the 1 and 15 in the side pockets, but both can not be shot into the same pocket.
It ended up being the 8 ball, the 1, and the 15 on the table at the end.
He got his 15 in front of a side hole, and because I wanted to play defensively, I moved his 15 away from the hole instead of shooting directly at my ball.
Because the Billiard Congress of America doesn’t have rules for this type of game play, I was wondering if we would go by “house rule” standards, or “8 ball rule” standards.
If we were to go for 8 ball rule standards, (which would be if all of your balls were gone off the table except the 8 ball) I believe it would be a ball-in-hand.
But being that I had a ball (the 1) left on the table still, does that rule even apply?
I feel that this is a legal move because you see people accidentally hit other opponent’s balls in and both accidentally move other’s balls throughout games.

knekne asked: It was billiards (pool) and you played with kids according to your and their level. You did’nt talk because talk was not part of the program. It was as if you were playing the computer, but you were actually playing a person. All the other sites allow dialogue which winds up to personal and sexual content. I don’t care for that I feel at times I may have been playing adults, but that was ok, I’m an adult also. Maybe yahoo does’nt offer this anymore, but I really enjoyed that program. So where is the pool game that the kids play?

Stuart F asked: I have been watching repeats of the world pool masters 9 ball from earlier in the year and noticed that the soft cut break (which I don’t like) wasn’t being used as much, and players seemed to be breaking more towards the centre of the table than the edge.
I think it may have been down to the rack being a little higher up the table.
Was this the case and is this the way to go for the game of 9 ball rather than using the break box.
also wanted to note that the suggested category for this and a previous question was sports>billiards, could Y!A be trying this out to see if we get rid of the stupid swimming questions.

KB4Prez asked: I am taking a date to a billiard pub for a first date. Does anyone know what I can expect to pay approximately to play pool? It is a small place in CT. I know some places charge per game, some per hour, a ball-park estimate of what I can expect to pay either by the game or by the hour will be really appreciated.

vbgore asked: I am about to open a billiard hall/bar and I need input from EXPERIENCED individuals who actuall HAVE or HAVE HAD similar establishments. I am looking to know how much I can expect each bar box table to generate per week. Also the juke box, the touch screens, the video games etc. I know that there are variables, but in general I need to know what to expect.
