What happens when you try to get out of your shell but people exclude you?

So I’ve done that – I like games like pool, billiards and spades. Turns out, I’m one of the weakest players there – no one wants to play me. They also act like they would rather i not be there.
How exactly does this help my self-confidence? I’m not smart or talented, so i won’t get significantly better at the games, even though i’ve played for years.
Any advice?
relate?
